"Nothing" by Natalee Creech-a book review

Do you love a great children’s rhyming book that is Biblically accurate?  I do, so I was delighted to get to review the book called “Nothing by Natalee Creech” by WorthyKids, an imprint of Hachette Book Group.

“For I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

The book itself is a lovely, durable hardback edition with a dust jacket.  (I love hardback books!).  The pages are full of full color paintings and are absolutely gorgeous.  That is one of my favorite parts of the book.  Our kids loved the bright pictures also!  I even used it as one of the books I put down for our 3 month old to look at and she loved the colors 🙂

We used this as a read-a-loud for all our kids (ages 8, 5, 2, 3 months).  It is based on the verses in Romans that tell us nothing can separate us from the love of God.  They put it in simple, yet beautiful language that the little ones can understand easily.  This is a book that they will ask to read over and over.

My little girl (age 2) especially loved this book and claimed it as hers!  She loved looking at the beautiful pictures even when there wasn’t someone to read to her.

This book is perfect for little ones (newborn-8) is probably a good age range.  You could use it either at home as a morning book or right before bedtime to help little ones have sweet dreams as they meditate on the fact that nothing can separate them from God’s love!  Adults would do well to meditate on that also!

It would also make a great book for Sunday schools and nursery class in churches.  I’ve been very pleased with this book and would definitely recommend it as a wonderful, kid-friendly scripture resource.  (It does reference a different version than KJV).  This didn’t really affect us at all, since we simply read from our Bible when I explaining to them what it said in the Bible and what it exactly meant!

It was funny, my oldest son seemed somewhat amazed that anyone might think something could separate them from God’s love!  He has that deeply rooted in his heart 🙂

I hope you’ll check it out and also check out the other reviews at the link below!
