Hi, all! My last post was 2 weeks into our new grocery budget. We had been shopping 2 times on our modified shopping list. We've now officially made it to our third shopping trip and here's the update...
Last shopping trip we made no extra grocery runs!! Woohoo! We did grab one extra dozen of eggs at the gas station simply because I had accidentally left them off the list..oops!
So, today when my husband went shopping we were really in need of groceries! Now, we still had food, but snacks and fresh fruit were completely gone, as we're eggs.
This trip we spent right at $319 which was slightly higher than planned ($300) however, we got 10 pounds of fresh ground beef for $2.19/pound and fresh pineapple for $0.99 each so we bought just a little more!
Are you curious what a grocery list looks like for us? Here goes:
Frozen blueberries (8 pounds)
Frozen strawberries (12 pounds)
Chicken breast (6 pounds)
Sliced cheddar cheese (2 pounds)
Shredded cheddar cheese (5 pounds)
Block cheddar cheese (2 pounds)
8 pounds apples
4 cans pink salmon
20 whole wheat low carb tortilla wraps
3 dozen eggs
Natural Peanut butter
Truvia, natural sweetener
2 lg.boxes old-fashioned oats
Decaf tea bags
2 pounds brown rice
5 cream cheese
3 almond milk
7 pounds bananas
4 bags tortilla chips
10 pounds potatoes
8 pounds clementines
Whole wheat bread
Bulk corn on cob (8)
Splurge..spare ribs...ouch those were expensive!
Town & Country:
10 pounds ground beef
4 fresh pineapple
That's alot of food! I also had to purchase paper towels, toilet paper and diapers but that isn't coming from the grocery budget. I buy all these in bulk and only order every 2-3 months.
How's your grocery budget doing? What do you think I should do differently?
