If you are anything like me, you struggle to get it all done! So, I am so crazy about my Instant Pot because it saves me sooooo much time and hassle 😍. Here are my 5 favorite things to do with it that you may not have thought of:
(I use the pressure seal on all of these!)
This is so helpful. I just pile a bag of frozen chicken breast, cook for 40 minutes and have 3-6 pounds of delicious chicken. I usually add a stick of butter. Then after it's done I shred it and either freeze it or store in the fridge for using that week. I then make faitas, chicken soup, stir fry or taco soup.
I do the same with hamburger, only this is even more handy because it drains all the fat off! I simply put about 5 pounds of raw hamburger onto the little stand that comes with the cooker. Add a small amount of water to the pot and cook for 40 minutes. Perfectly fine and not greasy! I then crumble it and freeze in individual quart bags.
This is a much used function. I wash and stick with a knife 4-6 potatoes and cook for 20 minutes. J place them on the rack and put a small amount of water in the bottom. They cook so well and taste delicious. They will stay nice and hot if you choose the keep warm function too!
You can also make delicious mashed potatoes by peeling and chopping your potatoes, then placing them in the cooker with 1 cup of water. Cook for 8 minutes.
This is so easy! Wash your corn, break in half, place on the rack with 1 cup of water in the bottom. Cook for 8 minutes.
Oh, I just love this feature. I enjoy using dry beans because they are tastier, cheaper and healthier but they take a long time to cook. With the Instant Pot I can go from dry beans to done in 45 minutes!!! Then I freeze them for using later.
I use this all the time. I literally throw all the veggies, raw (fresh or frozen) meat, sauces and spices together in the pot. I then cook it for 50 minutes. After it's done, I stir it. That's it! I do the same thing with chili. I put dry beans, water, frozen or fresh burger, sauce and seasonings. After it's done I add cheese and cream cheese.
This isn't really a soup but it's similar. I throw meat, cooked beans, rice, salsa, corn, cheese, and cream cheese into the Instant Pot and cook for 40 minutes.
I hope this gave you some new ideas for using your Instant Pot! I hope it saves you time, money and headache. Let me know if you try any, I'd love to hear from you!
Psst...if you're like me, you don't really have the time to always make it to an actual Homeschool convention. That's why I'm so excited about .
